  • What is the Operating System (O/S) that this PC uses?

This iKasu 7" UMPC runs a Linux operating system called 'Linpus'. Linpus is designed to use minimal resources from your UMPC's memory, to enable super fast speed & convenience. The simplistic interface enables users of all levels to start using the UMPC without any problems.

  • Where can I find out further information about the Linpus Operating System?

  • I cannot access my wireless network in my home?

Most issues when connecting to a Wireless Network are caused by the network key that you have assigned to your wireless router. A wireless key is an essential security measure to prevent unwanted access to your wireless router & network. Depending on your ISP & equipment it is likely that you will have to assign the network key manually during the installation of your wireless router. If you are not sure whether you have a network key assigned to your router, it is important that you check all the documentation that accompanies your router to check how to create/change a network key.

There are different types of network key available. It is important that you take note of the type of key that you assign. Each key has different security credentials. We recommend that you use a WEP password key.

When you attempt to connect to your wireless network on your UMPC, you will be prompted to enter your full network key & type.

  • I find the mouse & keyboard a little small, is it possible to plug a normal keyboard & mouse into the unit?

The Linpus O/S has full compaitibility with a large range of PC peripherals. You should find that the majority of Keyboard & Mouse combinations are able to work with the UMPC.

  • How long will the battery last for?

The battery of the UMPC should last between 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the usage. If you have established a wireless connection, this will reduce the battery's performance.

  • Can I use a USB Flash disk?
Yes you can connect any USB device to this UMPC.
