Frequently Asked Questions

  • When I turn off my ignition I lose all of the preset radio stations, why is this?
The reason for this problem is that the car stereo requires a permanent live feed going into the unit to ensure that it holds it's memory while your vehicle is switched off. The memory wire on the unit (Yellow Wire) requires a permanent live feed from your vehicle's battery. To locate the permanent live feed you should refer to your vehicle's handbook. If you are not 100% confident with reconfiguring the wiring within your vehicle, we recommend that you consult a professional fitter.
  • My CD only goes in a little bit, and then comes straight back out again, why is this?
You will notice that there are two big red labels on the top of the unit before you install your system. You must remove the screws connected to these labels. The screws protect the unit during transit.
  • What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a wireless protocol utilizing short-range communications technology facilitating data transmission over short distances from fixed and/or mobile devices, creating wireless personal area networks (PANs). The intent behind the development of Bluetooth was the creation of a single digital wireless protocol, capable of connecting multiple devices and overcoming problems arising from synchronization of these devices. Bluetooth uses a radio technology called frequency hopping spread spectrum. It chops up the data being sent and transmits chunks of it on up to 75 different frequencies. In its basic mode, the modulation is Gaussian frequency shift keying (GFSK). It can achieve a gross data rate of 1 Mb/s. Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, telephones, laptops, personal computers, printers, GPS receivers, digital cameras, and video game consoles over a secure, globally unlicensed Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) 2.4 GHz short-range radio frequency bandwidth.
  • How do I know if my phone is compatible?
All phones with a built-in Bluetooth function should be able to pair up with your Tevion 2413 stereo.
  • My phone won't pair with the CD player.
Make sure that your phone's Bluetooth is switched on and make sure you have pressed and held the 'Phone' button to start pairing with the phone. If in doubt, have a look at the demonstration video.
  • How can I change the ring tone on the stereo itself?
Press the 'Phone' button and then press and hold the 'select’ button for 3 seconds. The word 'Melody' will show up on the display. Just scroll through the melodies using the volume adjust knob. When you have the desired ring tone, just press the phone button.
  • The blue light keeps flashing?
This is perfectly normal. The blue light flashes to indicate the Bluetooth is activated and working. It will flash during pairing and intermittently while the phone is connected to the stereo
  • My iPod/mp3 player isn’t connecting about 10 seconds after I’ve plugged it into the USB port?
Depending on the size of the player's capacity, it can take about 40 seconds for the media device to fully connect to the stereo as it needs to scan through the player.
  • I have connected the stereo to additional speakers/subwoofer and the stereo isn't playing, why is this?
The stereo will need to be connected to an amplifier before connected to any additional speakers or subwoofer, otherwise the stereo wont be able to distribute the sound across the speakers properly.
  • The memory presets won’t remain after I have turned the ignition off?
This is not a fault with the unit. It is because the ISO lead isn’t marrying up to the harness properly, the lead is an industry standard, however some of the manufacturers harnesses are slightly different. All you will need to do is disconnect the yellow wire in the ISO lead and manually connect it to a constant live feed from the battery. The yellow wire needs constant power to keep the memory in the stereo.
  • Is it possible to connect the stereo to my steering wheel controls?
Unfortunately, no, the stereo doesn’t have the facility for this.
  • What is the 'Panel' wire in my ISO lead for?
This wire is for cars with a dimmer for the dashboard display. The wire allows the fascia light to dim when the dashboard dimmer is switched on.
  • Can I adjust the volume of the Microphone built into the stereo?
Yes, if you press the 'phone' button once then press and hold the setup button on the remote until the 'Melody' menu flashes. Press the 'Menu' button on the remote once again to go to the 'Phone Volume', then adjust the volume with the adjust knob.
