Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why will the unit not power up?

Usually the reason that the unit is not powering up is because the power supply has not been connected to the unit correctly. Ensure that you have the power supply connected to the socket securely.

  • Why is my remote control not working?

Check the batteries that you are using, to ensure that they do not require replacing. There is an Infrared eye at the front end of the remote control. Always ensure that this eye is pointing toward the unit when attempting to use the remote control.

  • The disc does not seem to be playing, why is this?

The first thing that you need to check is that there is a disk inside the disc drive. It is always worthwhile checking that you have inserted the disc in the correct direction. The silver side of the disc should be facing towards the floor, with the coloured side towards the ceiling. If you are still experiencing problems with a particular disc, you should try another disc to try and identify whether the problem is caused by that particular disc. You can repair scratched and damaged CD's & DVD's using scratch repair kits.

  • My CD/DVD is playing, but there is no sound coming out of the speakers, why?

Your connections with the A/V cables between the HIFI, speakers & amplifier will be incorrect. Please refer to the wiring diagram in the user manual for the correct configuration.

  • The unit has just frozen, and no functions seem to be working, how can I fix this?
All you need to do is turn the unit off, remove the plug from the AC socket for 5 minutes. You can then start the system again, and it should work without any problems.
