Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions regarding your iKasu product, click on the image below to enter our support forum. There you post a question for the attention of the Fascin8 Support Team. You can also check the forum for other similar questions.

  • I have a video that is already in AVI format; however it won’t play on the mp4 player. Why is this?
To rectify this problem, run the video through the converter to change it to the correct AVI codec required for playback on your player.
  • How do I select the relevant music/albums/artists on the player?
When you are in the music mode on your player, press the ‘Menu’ button, then scroll down to ‘File’. You can then scroll through the artists, albums, and songs through there.
  • How does the player switch off?
Press and hold the Play/Pause button for 3 seconds to turn the player off.
  • I have transferred music from my iTunes music folder onto my player, but it will not show up. Is the player faulty?
The player won’t be faulty, the default format of iTunes music is saved as m4a. This format is only compatible with the iPod, not with the MP4 player. The MP4 player will only play mp3 and wma format files. You can set iTunes to rip your CD’s into MP3 format if you must use that software. We do recommend that you use Windows Media player as shown in our Tutorial Video
  • When I attach my MP4 player to my PC, it is not recognised as a 'USB Disk Drive', why is this?

After installing your drivers and software, when you plug your MP4 player into your PC it should automatically recognise the MP4 player as a 'Removable Disk'; however sometimes your computer sets the device as 'Actions Mtp Device 000001'. If this is the case your Media Manager software may struggle to locate your MP4 player.

It is very simple to resolve this issue, by following these simple steps:

  1. From the menu on the MP3 player choose 'Setup' and press the 'M' button to confirm the selection
  2. From the Setup menu choose 'Online Device' and press the 'M' button to confirm the selection
  3. From the Online Device menu choose 'USB Disk' and press the 'M' button to confirm the selection
  4. Hold down the 'M' button for 2 seconds to return to the main menu screen

Now when you attach the MP4 player to your PC you should find that it is automatically recognised as a 'Removable Disk', and you can then transfer your music & media files using the Media Manager software provided.

  • Why are my movie files not working on the MP4 player?

This MP4 player requires all movie files to be in the AMV format. On the software CD provided there is an AMV converter, so that you can create AMV movie files from your existing movies. If you require assistance on using this conversion tool you may find these instructions useful.

  • Why is the MP4 player not playing my music files?

You must ensure that your music files are encoded into a recognised file format. This MP4 player is able to play MP3, WMA & WAV files for music. You may need to use a conversion tool. There are many different one available on the market; alternatively you can use Windows Media Player as shown in our Tutorial Video
