Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between Freeview & Analogue?

In the UK we have 5 terrestrial channels that transmit on the traditional Analogue format. Over the next few years, the government are planning on stopping all Analogue transmissions of TV signals, and they will be replaced by Digital transmissions. There are many different formats available for receiving Digital TV signals. The most popular format is Freeview, where you can receive a multitude of the most popular TV channels without any subscription fee or set-up charge. To see a full line-up of the channels available to view on Freeview, please visit the Freeview website www.freeview.co.uk

  • How do I know if I can receive Freeview?

Freeview is currently available in the majority of the UK; however there are certain areas that are still not fully covered by the Freeview signals. If you check the Freeview website (www.freeview.co.uk) you will be able to check the signal quality in your area. If you are in an area that should receive freeview; but cannot get any signal on your TV, you will have to replace your TV antenna. We advise that you consult a local Aerial Installation company for quality advice.

  • I cannot receive any Freeview channels, what is the problem?

To be able to receive Freeview on your TV, you will require the necessary antenna to ensure a strong signal. The best option is to consult a local Aerial Installation company, who will be able to offer expert advice and install the correct type of Antenna that you require. You can also try internal Anttenas and boosters; although the results may not be as successful. This DVD player is supplied with a portable aerial. It may sometimes be the case that the signal strength & quality are insufficient to receive a Freeview signal.
